Do you have family or friends in assisted living?
I grew up in California near a grandmother that lived in convalescent and mental health facilities for most of her adult life.
My mother, a former nurse, passed away at the age of 92 earlier this year after one and a half years in independent living.
Mom spent most of her retirement years volunteering in these senior care and rehab care facilities and the VA Hospital in California by organizing a few of her willing friends to sing and dance for the residents.
I reflect back to see how music and dancing brought life and inspiration to those in these assisted-care facilities. My mother's memory inspires me to continue to give and share my time and gifts with others.
As a result, this month Grace and I are very excited to begin teaching and sharing about blues music, blues history, and blues dance.
We will be visiting Good Samaritan Village, a senior living community in Loveland, where we will organize a program to interact with and entertain the residents with blues music history discussion and blues dance movement.
If you are inspired and moved to share and encourage others, would you be interested in helping Grace and I with this?
Our dates at Good Samaritan Village are September 26th and September 28th from 4:30-5:30 PM. If you would like to find out more please give me a call at 970-310-7111.
