“Social dance is now one of the most enjoyable activities in my life.  It's filled with alive energy, it's a fun form of exercise, and a great way to meet people.  Learning to dance has also added to my deep confidence in life, and to meeting women anytime, anywhere.  It wasn't always that way for me.  In the first few chapters of my life, I felt awkward and self–conscious whenever I tried dancing.  I felt like I had two left feet, and thought I couldn't hear the beat of the music.  That changed 7 years ago when I decided to just dive in and learn to dance.  It wasn't easy at first, but after going to the Swing dances at The Avalon a half-dozen times—I became a dancer.  My feet and arm–leads learned what they needed to do—without my thinking—and I began to feel the rhythm of the music.  All it took was practice!  Now, I love lively big–band Swing and slow, down–to–earth Blues dancing—both, the easiest social dances to learn.  As with most things in life, all it takes is a willingness to learn (and make mistakes), while focusing on having fun, and dancing like no one else is watching!  Because—they aren't!—they're dancing too! :-)”
